DARWIN - Slim-line Infrared Beams

The DARWIN is a new active infrared barrier system, designed to be used where short range detection is required but aesthetics are critical.

The DARWIN is a modular system, providing 2, 4, 6, or 8, optically synchronised beams in fixed columns of 0.5m, 1.0m, 1.5m and 2.0m respectively.

The alarm is generated when the beams are broken, with each alarm dependent on the timing of the blockage and the specific combination of beams.

A new, anti-insect function allows the beam to discriminate between genuine blocking of the beam and blockages caused by small insects on the face of the barrier.

The beams are contained in extruded aluminium columns, finished in black or light grey, with a profile of only 23mm x 23mm, which makes them ideal where discrete security is required.

The columns also have a unique fix and click end bracket, ensuring quick, unobtrusive installation.

They are particularly useful for protecting windows and other apertures where space is at a premium. With a range of 6m outside and 12m inside they are ideal for use in and around museums and art galleries.
